Well Bomber and kel have left us now. Picked up Chippa and Fi on Friday night and they spent a night at our place before joining bomber in his navara "TROUTA" to the Roper River, about 8 hours from Darwin. There Chippa will spend weeks fishing Barra with a whole bunch of bush bogans, some who spend the whole dry season camped at the Roper fishing, hunting, growing vegies, teasing crocs, …..

James and Mandy are fast becoming good mates for Al and Zoe in Darwin.
We found out about them initially through Rob Lutton from Living Room. These guys love people a lot and it shows, they are as warm and friendly as you get ! !
On Sunday's they run this "Fair Trade" stall at Mindil Market, the Darwin beach market…

Okay so I have found that it is possible to turn the mad hipi Mindil Market into boganville, I would like to welcome you to the Darwin Beer Can Regatta!
Ta da! Welcome to “Middie-ville” population you…
We have decided that this is not so much about the floating but in the sinking – not just boats!!! We got there too late to watch the sinking of the boats, but here is a small selection of what was on offer…

MEET BOMBER.
This week we’ve had the pleasure of hosting Bomber and Kel (his girlfriend) who we met through our good mate Chippa from pleasant Rowville in VIC. Bomber is a feral bogan who’s been living in a caravan at Coral Bay in WA for the last 2 years and we reckon he’s a good bloke. He’s going to the Roper river with Chippa next weekend then moving to Groote Island !
Besides Kel, Bomber’s best mate is Charlie, who you can see him sitting inside above. When Bomber and Charlie are together, it’s “Hookup Charlie” time as the rods go whizzing.
Can you smell that shirt through the internet? ! ! !
anyway Bomber took me for my first official Fishing 101 trip at East Arm in Charlie yesterday…

Gday
Well we just had a beautiful barbie with our new friends James and Mandy. Prawns, Threadfin, BBQ’d mushies, capsican, spuds, and other fried carcasses that only noodle and spam appreciate in the nelson family.
Anyway, so yes we had some emotional issues with Mrs Harshess: The Lady Lux Deluxe last weekend. Ahem, no oil in diff, bad. Never thought I’d have a 2WD Hilux but that is the way it is for the next month or so !
We had a mad, mad time in Kakadu. On the way we broke down and that was fun (harsh but fun). Then we met Tracy and Christy, a couple of good blokes from Melbourne. We picked them up and since Twin Falls was still blocked off, we decided to go to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge).

The 1st of July every year is Territory day in the NT. Zobe and I don’t really understand what it’s supposed to be for to be honest, but everyone loves blowing stuff up for Territory Day.
Fireworks are legal for Territory day weekend, and everywhere sells em. Even furniture shops ! On the satdy night it sounds like a war in Darwin as the whole city lets off crackers that put the commonwealth games to shame. I dunno how much people must spend onem, but I reckon it’s a lot !
So what did we do? We were told dogs trip out to the crackers, so we weren’t to keen to let’em stay home on their own. Especially since our favourite neighbours (seriously they are a nice bunch at least 10 of em live there they just get a bit excited) across the road were firing crackers hard and fast all night!
